Marcus Thuram to Manchester United: Red Devils to offer 11 Million Euros for French forward

According to widespread reports in the English media, Manchester United are very close to reaching an agreement with Borussia Monchengladbach in order to sign their forward Marcus Thuram for a fee of around 11 Million Euros.

Thuram will be out of contract in the summer of 2023 and that means he could sign a pre-contract agreement with any club to join them in the summer for free. Hence to avoid that, the German side might be tempted to sell their star man on a reduced price tag in order to inject some funds in the club.

The French forward recently earned himself a call-up to his national side for the recent World Cup after an impressive season in the Bundesliga. And his performances have been noticed by many English clubs with the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle in the list.

Thuram is the answer to United’s clinical problems

United weren’t exactly planning on signing him but now that Cristiano Ronaldo has left the club, Erik Ten Hag has the priority to sign a striker as soon as possible, and especially given that they missed out on Cody Gapko when he joined their arch-rivals, Liverpool.

But signing Thuram would be difficult too as he is a crucial player in his team and with him, the German side are aiming to qualify for the Champions League next season and hence, United surely need to present a good offer that they cannot refuse to.

However, if they manage to sign him, Marcus surely has the clinical ability that Ten Hag needs as this season he is in second highest scorer in Bundesliga with 10 goals and in all competitions, he has scored a total of 13 goals. So the numbers speak for themselves and hence, the Red Devils need to make a decision soon or like Gapko they could miss out on Thuram too.
