Marcel Sabitzer joins Manchester United on loan, know details

It is now officially confirmed that Manchester United have completed the deadline day signing of the Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer. The Red Devils have signed the Austrian midfielder on a loan until the end of the season without an option or obligation to buy clause. In order to join United, Marcel rejected the giants Chelsea and this change of mind occurred after a call from Erik Ten Hag to him, so this clearly states the commitment of both sides to each other and there is no doubt that Marcelo would surely bolster United’s midfield.

However, this deal wasn’t exactly planned on both sides as Manchester Unite had announced today that their star midfielder Christian Eriksen had suffered an injury and he’ll be out for around 3-4 months and that is absolutely disastrous for Ten Hag, given that his team are still competing in 4 competitions.

The Perfect Replacement For Eriksen

Hence, then the coach was looking to sign a direct replacement for him and then he landed at Sabitzer who wasn’t having the best of time at Bayern and according to reports in the German media, he was going to be sold permanently despite having a contract until 2025.

The 28-year-old midfielder joined the Bundesliga side back in 2021 from RB Leipzig for a fee of around 16 Million Euros. This season he has made 24 appearances in all competitions and has started 7 league games and 3 Champions League matches. But he surely hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations that were hoped from him based on the standards he did set at Leipzig.

However, now he has been given the chance to redeem himself by one of the best coaches in the world in the form of Erik Ten Hag. Although this is a loan deal, but if Marcel shows his true potential and manages to play a crucial role in the team and possibly even win trophies at Old Trafford, there is no question that United would go for him even if Bayern asks for more than 50 Million Euros. All in all, the Austrian can surely mark a legacy while playing for the Red Devils
