Manchester United to sign Goncalo Ramos as Cristiano Ronaldo’s successor

According to widespread reports in the English media, Manchester United are heavily interested to sign World Cup star Goncalo Ramos as Cristiano Ronaldo’s successor. The striker has been playing very well for Benfica during the 2022-23 campaign, by scoring an insane amount of 14 goals and providing six assists in all competitions by playing just 21 games.

And no one can forget his World Cup debut in Qatar, as in the Round of 16 he replaced Ronaldo in starting lineup against Switzerland and he proved himself in the best way possible as he scored a hat trick to announce himself in the footballing world.

Goncalo Ramos to Manchester United

Now according to the ever-reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have sent scouts to Qatar to analyse the performances of the Portuguese striker. And it is widely reported that Bayern Munich would challenge United for his services as even the Bundesliga giants are looking for an outright striker since Robert Lewandowski left to join FC Barcelona.

Benfica surely won’t sell their striker in January but it is reported that in the summer of 2023, they’ll at least ask an astronomical amount of 80 Million Euros for Ramos. His current contract with the Portuguese side expires at the end of the 2025/26 season.

But Erik ten Hag would still want to improve his forward line next summer cause even Rashford might leave for PSG. However, if Ramos forces his transfer move then Benfica would have no choice but to sell their man at a comparatively less price.
