Liverpool to sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton; Know contract details

Liverpool sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion. Mac Allister will sign a contract with the Reds until June 2028, and they will pay the Argentine’s buyout clause.

The World Cup winner will have his medical in the next 48 hours, the release clause is less than £45/50m. Liverpool think that this is a bargain deal for them.

Mac Allister will be Liverpool’s first signing for this summer. They have also hired a new sporting director Jorg Schmadtke, who will replace Julian Ward.

Liverpool midfielder James Milner has signed for Brighton, according to Fabrizio Romano, on a free transfer. Liverpool’s midfield drained out this season, as a result, they finished 5th in the Premier League.

The 2019 Champions League winners will play in the Europa League next season. Liverpool will also lose Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as free agents this summer.

To compete with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal, Liverpool have to sign players to improve their midfield.

After losing out on Jude Bellingham, who will now sign for Real Madrid, Liverpool were not ready to lose out on Mac Allister.

Jurgen Klopp aims to rebuild Liverpool’s midfield

Jurgen Klopp has already decided the players he wants in his midfield. Manu Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach and Khéphren Thuram from Nice are Klopp’s targets. Both of them play for France and have represented at the junior level.

Thuram also got his first senior cap this summer. Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga is also on Liverpool’s radar, as he had a brilliant season with them. The ex-Dortmund manager also admires him, but no talks have taken place with the Spaniard.

Mac Allister knows the Premier League well, and has won the World Cup on a big stage. So, it won’t be hard for the Argentine midfielder to settle in this team.

Alexis wants his move to be completed and before leaving for the national team.
