Lionel Messi makes crucial decision on future; will join MLS side Inter Miami next season

Lionel Messi to join Inter Miami after PSG exit. He will reject Al-Hilal’s offer and will move to the MLS side. Messi was also linked with a move to FC Barcelona, but due to Financial Fair Play issues it didn’t happen.

His first preference was Barca, as he was eager to return to the club of his life. However, he wanted to avoid what happened in 2021, and Barca could not guarantee his registration.

The 2022 World Cup winner had other offers from Al-Hilal and Inter Miami, and he chose Inter Miami.

The Argentine will play outside of Europe for the very first time. He joined La Masia at 13 and became Barcelona’s all time record goal-scorer with 672 goals.

Inter Miami has won the race to sign one of the best players in the world. Messi will receive a massive compensation package that includes a share of Apple’s revenue generated by MLS Season Pass and also a share of Adidas profits from his MLS arrival.

Apple TV will also release a documentary series featuring the Argentine’s triumph in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Messi’s father confirmed this week that his son prefers a move to Barcelona, but everything fell apart. The 35-year-old couldn’t get a farewell that he deserved from Barca fans.

Messi also had a chance to join his eternal Rival, Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia, but he preferred a move to the United States.

PSG decided to sign Messi when he was a free agent and couldn’t sign a deal with Barca in 2021. He played 75 matches for them, scoring 34 goals and assisting 32 and helped them to win Ligue 1 this year.

His transfer to Inter Miami will be a boost for the MLS.
