Kylian Mbappe ready to leave PSG as contract renewal talks stall

Kylian Mbappe is ready to leave PSG, as he has told the club that he will not extend his contract beyond 2024.

He joined PSG in 2017 from AS Monaco for around €180 million, making him the second-most expensive player in the world.

PSG have no intention to lose Mbappe on a free transfer. Their stance is clear, sign a new deal or else they will sell him this summer.

The World Cup winner will be free to negotiate or sign a pre-contract with any club if he decides to see out the remaining year of his deal at PSG.

The French club have already lost Messi on a free transfer this summer. As, he decided to join MLS club Inter Miami.

Kylian Mbappe ready to leave PSG to join Real Madrid?

Real Madrid have kept an eye on Mbappe since 2017. However, they also had their €200 million bid rejected by PSG in 2021.

However, after Benzema’s move to Al-Ittihad, the Los Blancos could step-up their interest in Mbappe this summer.

PSG value him at around €200 million, they will sell him to any club except Real Madrid, as they do not have good relations.

Can Real Madrid afford Mbappe’s wages?

Mbappe has never won the Champions League, and after seeing his arch rival Haaland lift the Champions League, he will be eager to do that.

Moreover, he has never won a Ballon d’Or, and if he joins Madrid the chances will increase immensely.

Madrid have significantly reduced their wages. Benzema, Hazard and Asensio all were on high salaries before leaving. And this might be their best chance to sign the French superstar.

However, they have spent a significant amount on Bellingham this summer. And due to La Liga’s salary restrictions it may be difficult, but not impossible.

Moreover, if they sell one or two players from their squad, they might be able to afford Mbappe.
