Inter will sign Yann Sommer from Bayern Munich for €6 million

Serie A giants Inter will sign Yann Sommer from Bayern Munich for a fee of €6 million. The Swiss international will undergo his medicals on Monday.

The 34-year-old was on Nerazzurri’s radar for quite some time, and after some tough negotiations with Bayern, they will finally sign Sommer.

Yann Sommer will sign a two-year deal

Moreover, Inter are allowed to pay the amount in instalment over the next two years. Due to both clubs’ good relations, Inter will get more time to pay the fee.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Sommer will land in Milan on Sunday and after completing his medicals, he will sign a two-year contract with the Nerazzurri.

Bayern Munich signed Sommer in the January transfer window from Borussia Monchengladbach for a fee of €9 million. The Bundesliga winners had no intention to sign a keeper at first. However, Manuel Neuer’s injury forced Bayern to go for Sommer in January.

Inter will sign Yann Sommer to replace Andre Onana

Inter sold Andre Onana to Manchester United for €55 million, including add-ons. Moreover, Samir Handanovic also left the club after his contract expired with Inter. Inter are expected to keep hold of Filip Stankovic as their second-choice goalkeeper.

So, with Sommer’s departure, Bayern will have to react quickly to find a replacement as Manuel Neuer is still recovering from his injury.

Sommer has 83 international caps for Switzerland’s national team. The shot-stopper will also turn 35-year-old in December.

Bayern miss out on David Raya

The Bavarians did shortlist Brentford’s David Raya on a loan deal. However, the Spanish goalkeeper rejected the move as he strongly prefers a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners have submitted a bid of £20 million fixed fee plus £3 million add-ons. Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou was also an option in January, but he rejected a move.

However, due to Sevilla’s financial difficulties, Bayern can sign him for less fee this summer.
