Inter sign Marcus Thuram on a free transfer. The 25 year-old will sign a five-year deal with the Serie A giants.

Thuram will earn around €6.5 million for Inter. After his successful spell with Borussia Moenchengladbach, the player decided to leave for a bigger club.

Lilian Thuram’s son joins Serie A giants Inter

The France forward is also the son of World Cup winner Lilian Thuram. Marcus was born in Parma, where his father Lilian played for five season. He also won the Champions League and Italian Cup in 1999 with the Italian legends Gianluigi Buffon and Fabio Cannavaro.

Inter were the first team interested to sign the French forward. Last summer, they were about to sign him, but he was injured, and the deal did not go through.

Now, they have signed him, and that too as a free agent. The striker will link up with World Cup winner Lautaro Martinez up-front.

Inter posted a statement on club’s website, “Marcus Thuram signs for Inter, the forward, who was born in 1997, joins the Nerazzurri following four seasons with Borussia Moenchengladbach”.

Inter sign Marcus Thuram to replace veteran striker Edin Dzeko

The Nerazzurri have now found a perfect replacement for Edin Dzeko, who left the club for Tukish club Fenerbahce.

Just like his father, Marcus Thuram also suffered a World Cup final defeat last year against new teammate Lautaro Martinez and Argentina.

Marcus Thuram was crucial in the final as he assisted the equalizer for Kylian Mbappe, which took the game to extra-time.

However, despite his efforts in World Cup he will face strong competition up-front with Romelu Lukaku. The Belgium striker was on loan from Chelsea. He is reportedly pushing to extend his stay with Inter for another year.

Thuram will look replicate his father’s legacy to succeed as a professional footballer by winning multiple trophies with Inter.
