INDW vs AUSW 3rd T20I: Ellyse “Perry-shed” Indian bowlers to help Australia register a 2-1 lead

Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai: India women faced a 21-run defeat in the IND(w) vs AUS(w) 3rd T20I. With Ellyse Perry’s ravishing knock with the bat, Australia posted a 173-run target in the first innings. Which was complemented by Grace Harris, who scored a phenomenal 41 runs off just 18 balls, packed with 4 fours and three sixes.

For Indian bowling department, Renuka Singh, Anjali Sarvani, Deepti Sharma, and Devika Vaidya took two wickets each. Later, with some good fielding and even better captaincy, Australian women made a top comeback in the five-match series on Indian soil. With the win in the 3rd T20I, Australia has commenced with a 2-1 lead in the series.

Indian star opener Shafali Verma got off to a good start while chasing down the target. However, the quick succession of wickets and the run rate piling up pressured the young batter, resulting in her dismissal. Smashing 52 off 41 Verma couldn’t produce the best results for her side. Moreover, Darcie Brown and Ashleigh Gardener were at the top of the Australian balling line-up. Picking up two each, they both provided the much-needed breakthrough for their skipper.  

It was an Ellyse Perry show in the IND(w) vs AUS(w) 3rd T20I

After India women juggernauts Australia Women’s unbeaten streak in the 2nd T20I, the evergreen Ellyse Perry came down to re-establish Australian dominance in women’s cricket. Australian all-rounder scored an awe-inspiring knock of 75 off 47 helping Alyssa Healy-led Australia put up a strong 173. Her innings filled with 9 fours, and 3 sixes, gave the visitors the correct start.

The fourth of the five T20Is will be played on the 17th of December at the same venue. It will be interesting to see whether Harmanpreet Kaur-led Women in Blue be able to learn from their mistakes or not.
