The wait is finally over; BCCI has finally revealed the new jersey for the Indian cricket team ahead of the
T20 series against Australia.
For over a week, a great hype had been building all over the internet as Indian cricketers kept posting photos of themselves, revealing just portions of the jersey.
However, today the Board of Control for Cricket in India finally revealed the jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup. MPL and Byju’s remain as the sponsors for the jersey.
Texture and color of new jersey of Indian cricket team
As compared to the previous jersey, which had a darker hue, this one is lighter. It is more like India’s jersey in their inaugural triumph in the T20 world cup in 2007.
Noticeably this is the third jersey India has worn under the sponsorship of MPL.
The Indian contingent hopes to see a change in fortune with this new jersey. They have had a rough time in the ICC tournaments since losing in the 2019 ODI world cup.
Tough road ahead for Indian cricket team
Since then, they have failed to make it big in any muti-teamed ICC event they took part in. recently, they had a torrid outing in the Asia Cup, where they suffered a double defeat against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
This double blow from our neighbours saw us out of the tournament. Hence, a change in fortune is in order.
That is what people will expect in the upcoming series against Australia and South Africa. They will be the preparatory series ahead of the big tournament in Australia next month.
