The encounters between India and Pakistan in the field of sport are often riveting and entertaining. And the cricketing encounter between the two nations in Asia cup’s league stage was no different.

Both the teams came into the game with a score to settle. While Pakistan was in it to recover some ground in the hefty margin of victory that India has over them. The Indian team was looking to avenge their world cup loss.

As a result, the world knew they were in for a belter. And when a match of such a calibre is played, records are made, and history is shattered.

The Indians did something similar as they triumphed over their arch-rivals, Pakistan, with five wickets.

Indian pacers taking all 10 wickets in a T20I match

The benchmark was set by the Indian pacers, who started off in an excellent manner. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the leader of the pact, claimed four scalps to register his best figures against Pakistan in T20Is. His example was followed by all-rounder Hardik Pandya who took three wickets.

Newcomer Arshdeep Singh, playing his only 7th T20I, managed to pick two crucial wickets. And a solitary wicket went to express pacer Avesh Khan, as India managed to bundle the Pakistan attack for just 147 runs.

Indian batters registered highest chase against Pakistan in T20I

The Indian batters performed the remaining job. They chased down a total of 147 in 19.5 overs to register their highest successful chase against Pakistan in T20Is.

Now, this win might look like a small one. Considering that India only had 148 runs to make. But the Pakistani bowlers didn’t give Indian batters an inch of breathing space.

Their debutant Naseem Shah rattled the Indian batters in his very first over. He also claimed the priced wicket of KL Rahul for a golden duck. This put quite some pressure on the shoulder of Indian batters.

However, some positive-looking batting by Kohli, who made 35 and the 52-run partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya, brought India close to their target.

The match was nowhere close to being won. In the final over, India required 7 runs and lost the priced wicket of Ravindra Jadeja. Now it was up to Hardik Pandya to take India over the line. And the all-rounder did that with style.

Hardik Pandya reminded everyone of MS Dhoni’s famous finishing sixes, as he won the game for India with a massive six over the long-on region.

India will be hoping to replicate this outstanding performance in the upcoming games. And clinch their eighth in total and fourth Asia Cup title in consecutive editions.
