FC Barcelona intend to sign N’Golo Kanté as Sergio Busquets replacement; know details

According to widespread reports in the Spanish and English media, the La Liga giants FC Barcelona are interested to sign Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante as a potential replacement to club legend Sergio Busquets.

Now Barcelona had heavily spent this summer with over 150 Million deducted from the club’s account on transfers with the likes of Lewandowski, Kounde, and Raphinha coming into the team and also despite signing Italian midfielder Kessie, they are now again looking for Sergio’s replacement.

Times up for Buesquets at Barcelona

This is because it is believed that Busquets will run out his contract and leave the club in 2023 with the hope of joining the MLS league.

And till now no one at the club has the quality to replace the Spaniard with the likes of De Jong, Nico Gonzalez and now even Kessie failing to do that. Hence, now the club believes that the answer to their problem is Kante whose contract is going to expire in 2023.

However, the Frenchman might not be the perfect long-term choice for replacing Sergio cause Kante is already 31 and so again in 3-4 years, they’ll need to look for a replacement of Kante.

And he may have injury problems too due to old age, cause it is now reported that he might miss the World Cup due to injuries. Hence Barca should focus on growing their own talent with ost likely replacement Frenkie De Jong. All in all, it would be a no risk signing as he would arrive for free.
