Chelsea looking to sign ManUnited captain Harry Maguire

Maguire to Chelsea

According to widespread reports in the English media, Chelsea football club are studying the possibility to sign Manchester United’s captain Harry Maguire this summer.

The defender has come under criticism a lot recently due to his poor performances at United and this is mainly because of the 4-2-3-1 formation that they have and he really struggles in it cause Maguire thrives and truly plays sensationally in a 3 at the back system which is played by Gareth Southgate in the national team.

And his brilliance was seen by everyone in the Euros as he was a rock in England’s defence and he has even shown his quality at Leicester where they had the formation of 3 centre backs and due to those performances at Leicester, United paid an astronomical amount of 70 Million Euros in order to sign him.

So Harry Maguire in a back 3 and a good quality midfield ahead of him, makes him one of the best centre backs in the world. And that’s the system that Tuchel makes Chelsea play in, and since his arrival the Blues have been one of the defensive teams in Europe.

So if indeed he arrives, Tuchel has the opportunity to turn the England International’s career around and unleash his true potential to the footballing world.

This move might even benefit Harry cause the World Cup is just around the corner and for that he needs to be in incredible form and face best teams of Europe which he’ll play at Chelsea cause they’ll play Champions League football which United won’t.

Since this news broke out, all the United supporters have been joyful as they all agree that their captain needs to level their club immediately.

On the contrary, it is been reported that Chelsea fans are absolutely disappointed with this rumour as they do not support this move of Maguire coming to Staford Bridge.

However, it will be interesting to see if Chelsea signs another centre-back after they signed Kalidou Koulibaly, cause they can play their captain Cesar Azplicueta in that role for a short-term period and then go for a sensational defender in the next summer. All in all, it would be fascinating to see how this transfer saga develops.
