Busquets likely to make a decision on his Barcelona future; know details
Sergio Busquets who is one of the finest midfielders ever to play the game of football has a contract with his childhood club FC Barcelona which is going to expire in the summer of 2023. Despite just 6 months remaining on the deal, the Spaniard’s future is still uncertain as he hasn’t said a word about it.
Xavi, his former teammate, friend and also now his coach has asked the club to renew his deal. The club agreed to that and have even offered him a deal which will run until 2025, but Busquets has made the decision to stall it.
Busquets likely to consider MLS contract
According to widespread reports in the Spanish media, it is believed that the La Masia graduate is considering two opinions which is to stay at Barcelona on a lesser salary cause at the moment the Spanish giants simply cannot afford the wages of their legendary midfielder.
On the other hand, he has the option to go and play in MLS by potentially joining David Beckham’s Inter Miami where it is rumoured that his former teammates Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi would also go.
But now there have been some developments in his situation as recently he has said in an interview that he’ll be going to make a decision by February. Hence, now it would be interesting what choice he make as already one of his teammates Gerard Pique has not only left the club but has also retired from the game.
And realistically it looks like the golden generation of Barcelona has to now move on and give the chance to the youngsters like Frenkie De Jong. All in all, Sergio Busquets has been a Barcelona legend which cannot be taken away from him
