Bayern Munich sign Bryan Zaragoza from Granada for €15 million

Bayern Munich sign Bryan Zaragoza from Granada for a reported fee of €15 million. The Spanish winger will also sign a five-year contract, until June 2029 with the Bundesliga champions.

Bryan Zaragoza will join Bayern at the start of the 2024/25 season, and till then, he will stay at Granada on loan to help them remain in La Liga.

The Spaniard already had an excellent start in La Liga this season with Granada, as he already has five goals and two assists in 14 appearances in this campaign.

Moreover, his excellent display against Barcelona in October, where he scored two goals did not go unnoticed as several teams wanted to sign him.

Along with Barcelona, Brentford, RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid also wanted to sign him in the summer. Moreover, his release clause would’ve dropped to €7 million in the summer. Nevertheless, the Bavarians were keen to sign him and secured a deal way early than other clubs.

His brilliant performances this season also earned him a call-up to the Spain national team. He made his debut against Scotland in a Euro 2024 qualifying game.

Furthermore, with Thomas Muller’s contract expiring in 2024 and his future up in the air, Zaragoza’s arrival will bolster Bayern’s attack even more.

He can play as a left-winger and as a striker as well and he may be a very good back-up for Bayern’s star striker Harry Kane from next season onwards.

“Bryan Zaragoza (22) will move from FC Granada to FC Bayern for the 2024/25 season. The German record champions have agreed on this with the offensive player and the Spanish first-division club. The Spanish international will receive a five-year contract until June 30, 2029,” read the statement on Bayern’s website.

“Bryan Zaragoza is a very fast and extremely agile winger who can play on both wings. He is unpredictable, a goal threat and very good in 1v1 situations. We look forward to him joining us in the summer,” said Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund.
