FC Barcelona has officially announced that they will wear a ‘special jersey’ of the legendary band The Rolling Stones. The jersey will also depict the group’s logo for the upcoming El Clasico against Real Madrid.
“FC Barcelona and Spotify have done it again. The jersey Barça will wear for El Clásico on 28 October will once again become an iconic garment that is set to grab worldwide attention,” the statement read.
“The Tongue and Lips logo of The Rolling Stones (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood) will replace the Spotify logo on the legendary FC Barcelona kit, putting the band that has played the iconic stages of the world on the global stage of El Clásico for the first time.”
The La Liga giants agreed a deal with music platform Spotify last season and as a part of the agreement, the players will wear shirts depicting logos and symbols of famous music artists.
Barcelona to wear special jersey against Real Madrid next weekend
Barca have already donned the jersey with the OVO logo of internationally acclaimed rapper and singer Drake for the first El Clasico of the 2022/23 season in October last year.
Furthermore, a special edition sporting a logo of Spanish singer and songwriter Rosalia’s album ‘Motomami’ was released for the second El Clasico of the last season in March earlier this year.
The players will wear a special third edition kit of the legendary British band ‘The Rolling Stones’ for the Clasico which is set to take place on October 28.
The Rolling Stones’ new album ‘Hackneys Diamonds’ is set to be released on October 20, a week before the game.
This special edition jersey will be worn by the Barca Femeni side as well against Sevilla on November 5 at Estadi Johan Cruyff.
