Barcelona Will Release Documentary About Messi’s Exit with Arrival of Lewandowski and Xavi

La Liga megastars FC Barcelona have announced that a new documentary ‘FC Barcelona, A New Era’ is on its way and will be available for streaming this December exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. It will cover the last two years of the Club’s bizarre adventures. 

The new documentary produced by Barca studios will be five episodes long, each with a run time of 30 minutes. What’s more compelling is the fact that the documentary is set to begin with one of the most shameful defeats in history, the 8-2 painful defeat to the Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.

FC Barcelona announce new documentary in partnership with Prime Video

The ‘FC Barcelona, A New Era’ collaboration with Prime Video is set to reveal the on-goings of the rollercoaster ride that the last two years had been from the perspective of the first team.

FC Barcelona’s official statement regarding the worldwide premiere of the new documentary on their official website says the following:

“On August 14, 2020, even in the midst of a pandemic, it certified the end of an extraordinary cycle, which began in 2004. It was a turning point for the Club that, months later, would culminate in the presidential elections and the election of Joan Laporta and the current Board of Directors…

…the docuseries includes moments seen from within such as Quique’s stage Setién, the departure of Luis Suárez, Leo Messi’s distancing from Josep María Bartomeu’s board of directors, the Argentine’s last season at the Club, the entry of President Laporta’s new Board, Messi’s emotional goodbye…

…The series ends with the new injection of illusion that the reinforcements of the team arouse in Barcelona with Lewandowski, Kounde, Christensen, Kessie, Marcos Alonso, bellerin and Pablo Torre, in addition to the continuity of Ousmane Dembélé, a personal commitment from Xavi.” The docuseries ends with the formation of the new-generation Barca after moving on from the days of the golden-trio Neymar, Messi, and Suarez. It should be an entertaining and emotional rollercoaster for all the FCB fans out there.
