Azim Rafiq demands Yorkshire racism hearing to be happen publicly

After nearly a year of the harrowing testimonial provided by Azim Rafiq, justice is still nowhere to be found for the former Yorkshire cricketer.

Last year the racial abuse and mental harassment case by Azim Rafiq took the English cricketing fraternity by storm. Several sections of the Yorkshire cricket club and English cricket, in general, were exposed.

Very powerful people in the game were accused by Rafiq and called out. Some of them, like the former captain and coach of Yorkshire Andrew Gale, accepted the charges.

Azim Rafiq pens letter appealing for a public hearing

However, justice is still far from being delivered.

Over the year, Rafiq has been subject to several hearings with the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Committee. But justice is far from being delivered.

Hence, the player has decided to appeal for a public hearing of his court case.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Rafiq sent an open letter requesting for the court trial, which is supposed to take place later in autumn, to be held publically.

Furthermore, the PA news agency reported that Rafiq lacks trust in the process. And believes that holding the trial in public would offer some transparency.

It is to be noticed that there is nothing in the CDC rule that holds the trial from going public.

There is no clarity on whether the request has been accepted or not. The only news from the other end is that the CDC is keen on hearing from Rafiq again. This time they want to hear from him about a campaign to vilify him.

In all likelihood, Azim Rafiq is all set to get a fair trial at the Yorkshire court. One that will bring him justice and prosperity.
