After the following weekend’s Durand Cup victory, Sunil Chhetri has now completed the set of all major Indian trophies.
Won It All
As an Indian Footballer Chhetri has won it all. Two finals , semi finals and 21 years and has won the ISL .Sunil is easily India’s greatest ever football players by miles and success didn’t come easy for the 38 year old. The Indian footballer has won every possible trophy now in Indian football but unfortunate for Chhetri the Durand cup used to be his only hurdle in path to Glory of Indian football, it used to elude the 38 year old for a long time. Already an ISL winner and a Super Cup Champion Sunil added the Durand cup trophy to his collection on the 21st year of his career. The 38 year old has also won the Hero I- League title 4 times and the federation cup twice .To top that Sunil also captains the Bengaluru Fc Club.
Struggle for the Durand Cup
The Durand Cup is the oldest football tournament in Asia. Sunil finally achieved Durand cup glory this weekend with a 2-1 win over Mumbai City fc, the ISL winner added the missing piece to his Indian Cabinet silverware collection after two decades of work.

“ That was the dream at the start of the tournament . But at the start of the tournament , you can never say you are going to win it. But now we are victorious. It is amazing for so many reasons. We have a new team , a new coach .That we played a lot of youngsters coming . Me, winning the trophy for the time .BFC winning the trophy for the first time, it was a joyful day” the Indian Footballer added.
