The World Cup winner made his international debut in 2008 against Paraguay in a World Cup qualifier. Since then he has scored 29 goals in 132 appearances for the Albiceleste.
The ex-Real Madrid player has been part of four World Cup campaigns for his nation. Furthermore, he ended up winning the competition last year in Qatar.
