Winning Champions League Not Easy Anymore Says Pep Guardiola after Salzburg Draw

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated in a shocking revelation that winning the UEFA Champions League was previously easier to win the past seasons but at the moment it has become difficult.

City suffered a 1-1 draw against RB Leipzig earlier on Wednesday during their knockout stage first leg after an equalizer was scored by the Josko Gvardiol in the 70th minute of the match.

Guardiola stated while speaking to the reporters post-match that the UCL has now become very demanding and that he was not expecting that his team would be having any easy day in Germany.

Guardiola continued that this was Champions League and that the big clubs were in the Europa League right now. He said that it was very demanding now and that before it was quite easy. Today all teams were really strong and that they were well prepared along with having good managers.

On drawing the game, Guardiola stated that his expectations were not high and that he did not think that he would win 0-4 even for a second and that the match needed control. However, since it is a game of two legs of 180 minutes, he did not want to lost 4-3.

Guardiola also claimed that he was happy with Manchester City’s performance earlier and was questioning the people who had expected City to have an easy time with Leipzig.

“I was happy for the whole game…What do you expect? To play a friendly game here? How many games have you seen of RB Leipzig. People expect us to come here and win 0-5?,” stated Guardiola.
