Will Discuss With FA: Didier Deschamps on Future as France Manager

After an electrifying and heart-charging match of the FIFA 2022 World Cup finals that unfolded in the Lusail iconic Stadium earlier, Argentina snatched the victory rights to lift the Cup from the mouth of the defending champion, France.

In what was being regarded as legendary Lionel Messi’s final match in the sky-blue hues of Argentina, and of course, as the last World Cup match being played by him, he proved yet again why he is known as the greatest of all time, ending the age-long ‘GOAT’ debate.

Just like hearts filled with jubilant joy, hearts were also broken, and tears were shed resulting from the same game. Nevertheless, the French side, led by Didier Deschamps, despite being nearly invisible for the first half of the game, made a stunning comeback in the second half.

The iconic Kylian Mbappe single-handedly brought back the French front from the dead. The 23-year-old made history after scoring a hat-trick in the World Cup finals and later scoring his 4th goal in the form of a penalty in the decisive penalty shootouts.

Will Deschamps be sacked as French manager?

However, Didier Deschamps also had a legendary run in the 2022 edition of the global showpiece, he led the France national team to victory back in the 2018 Russia World Cup, and this year, despite being injury-infested throughout without the likes of Pogba, Kante, and Benzema, took the French side into the finals of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

After the crushing defeat from Argentina in the finals, the matter of concern and speculation is whether the French manager, Deschamps, still remains the in his position or decides to give up his job.

Speaking to sources, he said,

“I have a meeting with the FA president at the beginning of the year. I will discuss with him. I would have said the same if we had won; it takes time”.

It seems that Didier Deschamps is keeping all options open for his future. Only time will tell whether he remains or perishes from the French side.
