WATCH: Sarfaraz Khan smashes third hundred of Ranji Trophy 2022-23, Mumbai coach Amol Mazumdar bows the batter
Sarfaraz Khan slammed his third century of the ongoing Ranji Trophy as he continued to take the domestic circuit by storm. Sarfaraz reached the three-figure mark in just 135 balls against Delhi in the Elite Group B match. 25-year-old Khan is yet to get a Test call-up for Indian team.
Ignored for Australia Test series, Khan had scored a ton against Hyderabad (126*). Then made 75 and 20 against Saurashtra, and made another century against Tamil Nadu, making 162 runs.
Moreover, now in the recent most match against Delhi, which is being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Sarfaraz Khan notched up his 13th First Class century. Mumbai was asked to bat first by Delhi captain Himmat Singh.
Sarfaraz celebrated his ton with gusto and some pent-up anger was released as well after he was ignored for both the Bangladesh Test series and the upcoming first two Tests against Australia at home.
He pointed towards the dressing room after completing his century and coach Amol Mazumdar made an amazing gesture by tipping his hat towards the young batter.
The visiting side lost the crucial wicket of captain Ajinkya Rahane just 4 runs later and were four down for 66. Sarfaraz took the onus and continued to hold one end. The right-handed batsman paid a tribute to the late singer Sidhu Moosewala after completing his century. Sarfaraz did a thigh-five and remembered the singer. The Mumbaikar often remembers the singer after reaching the three-figure mark and he once again paid a tribute to Moosewala.
Moreover, Mumbai were 253/5 at the time of writing this piece.
