Watch: Arsenal 3-2 Man United- Nketiah’s brace helps Gunners secure narrow win; they go 5 points clear in Points Table

In one of the most anticipated games of the weekend, Arsenal emerges victorious over Manchester United in Premier League, albeit by the narrowest of margins.

The English league leaders consolidate their position on top of the table with a narrow yet empathic 3-2 victory over their Manchester Rivals on Sunday.

Arsenal beat Manchester United narrowly

It was one of the most wholesome games of football in recent times where two evenly matched team went toe to toe in order to claim the three points up for grab.

But in the end, there could be only one winner and that was Arsenal.

Eddie Nketiah scored twice while Bukayo Saka’s solitary strike ensured 3 points for the Gunners. On the other hand, Rashford continued his red-hot form and Martinez scored his first goal for Red Devils.

Rashford and United have flying start

The start of the first half saw arsenal dominate the possession. They remained in the United’s half for most part of the first half, yet couldn’t find a goal.

Always threatening on the counter, Manchester United showed how it’s done to Arsenal. The Red Devils drew the first blood in the game by a venomous strike from Marcus Rashford in 17th minute.

The home crowd was stunned to see Rashford skip past his marker and score form outside the box. The English forward beat Ramsdale at his near post to register his 9th goal in as many games after the World Cup 2022.

Arsenal was not the one to sit back either. Within 6 minutes they pulled one back courtesy to some great movement and header by Nketiah.  Martin Odegard deserves equal praise for this goal as he was able to pick Nketiah in the United Box.

At halftime both teams headed back into the tunnel tied at 1-1.

Saka, Martinez spice things up in 2nd Half

The second half saw Arsenal come out with all out attack once again. And this time their efforts were rewarded as well.

A clean strike by Bukayo Saka from outside the box saw them ahead of the first time in the game as De Gea was beaten was left wrong footed and beaten on far post.

There were wild celebrations roaring in the Etihad Stadium as the home team took the lead.

But the joy and ecstasy were curtailed by Lisandro Martinez’s header on the other side. It was a United corner that Arsenal were unable to deal with and Martinez made the most of it.

One of the shortest center back on the field, as he is often referred to, scored one of the most crucial goal in the most unfavorable fashion. 59th minute saw Manchester United draw level again.

Toosard Makes impact, Nketiah scores winner for Gunners

Late into the game, it felt as if this game was going to end as a draw. But Mikkel Arteta had different ideas. He injected some fresh energy in the form of new signing Leandro Tossard. And he made immediate impact on the field.

Tossard was able to link up with his teammates without any friction. And this lead to the final goal of the game late into the 90th minute.

It was once again the usual combo of Odegard and Nketiah who put Arsenal in front. A cruel pass in the box, met with a cool finish in the form of a backheel by Nketiah saw Arsenal register a late lead.

They eventually ended up defending it in the small pocket of 4 minutes of added time.

With this victory they secured all 3 points and were able to go 5 points clear on top of the table. Manchester United remain on the fourth position with 39 points. Only behind of Newcastle United on goal difference.
