Vinicius Jr slams La Liga for “doing nothing against Racism”; Tebas responds

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has put up allegations against La Liga saying that they “continue to do nothing” about “racists” who are attending the games.

The Brazilian was openly racially abused by a group of “fans” during their 2-0 victory at Real Valladolid on this Friday.

This is not the first time racist behaviour has been spoken up against by teams or players. Back in September, Atletico Madrid were also seen condemning “unacceptable” chants by certain so called supporters towards the 22-year-old Brazilian.

Vinicius continued against this behaviour and La Liga’s ignorance of it, saying that racists keep coming to the games and continue watching the greatest club in the world up close and yet La Liga continues to do nothing and averts its eyes.

“I will carry on with my head held high and celebrating my victories and those of Madrid. In the end the fault is mine,” said Vinicius Jr.

However, a La Liga spokesperson had earlier made a statement saying that hate speech had no place in the league. They also continued to add further and said,

“We are investigating last night’s match and, as always in these cases, will work with the clubs and appropriate authorities to identify and prosecute anyone guilty of hate speech.”

“La Liga has detected videos uploaded to social networks of racist insults from a person, not from groups, and they will be charged as in previous cases.”

Back in October 2021, La Liga had reported racist insults which were at the young Vinicius Jr to the prosecutor’s office.

However, this month the Spanish prosecutors had chosen closed the investigation about the racist chants by the Atletico fans and justified it by giving the excuse that it was impossible to identify who were involved.
