Tottenham Hotspur Suffer Injury Blow as Yves Bissouma Undergoes Surgery

Tottenham have suffered another injury blow to their already injury-infested squad as Yves Bissouma is set to undergo a surgery because of a stress fracture to his left ankle. Spurs have also stated that the timeperiod for his return will only be declared after his surgey.

Bissouma, who arrived this summer from Brighton & Hove Albion had been spending time in the sidelines as a substitute this campaign, and is seemingly going to remain on the stands for an extended timeframe due the setback his injury have caused.

Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma to undergo surgery

Bissouma came on the pitch in Tottenham’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City the last time to play only for the last six minutes of the game.

Tottenham’s official club website read that they could confirm Yves Bissouma was undergoing a surgery on Friday to repair the stress fracture in the left ankle and that the timeframe for the return of the midfielder to training would be determined post-surgery.

The statement also said that he will be starting his rehabilitation along with the club’s medical staff as soon as it was possible.

Hugo Lloris, Cristian Romero out of Spurs’ next match

Yves Bissouma is not the only Spurs player who would be missing Tottenham’s Premier League clash on upcoming Saturday at Leicester City. Hugo Lloris and Cristian Romero are also going to be marked absent as they watch from the sidelines.

Lloris had earlier acquired a knee injury in their previous 1-0 victory over Manchester City at the Spurs’ stadium, while on the other hand, Romero will be serving a one-match suspension after being shown a red card for two offenses.
