Suryakumar Yadav breaks several records; becomes most run scorer and six hitter in a Calendar year for India

Suryakumar Yadav made his debut in a bilateral series against England on March 14, 2021, and how can one forget his first ever ball in T20 internationals? England seamer Jofra Archer was steaming in to bounce him out, but Surya’s unusual approach helped him send the ball into the stands.
Surya used to routinely chip in with useful runs with his unconventional technique during Kolkata Knight Riders’ successful IPL season in 2014. He was bought by Mumbai in the mega auction in 2018, and he hasn’t looked back since.
Suryakumar becomes highest run scorer for India in calendar year
Surya has whacked 45 sixes so far in 2022, and no other batter has hit more. This is a record-breaking year for him, as he becomes the Indian batter who scored the most runs in a calendar year in T20 internationals, topping Dhawan’s total in 2018.
Surya surpassed Dhawan’s 689 run total in 2018, and currently has 732 runs with a batting average of 40 and a strike rate of 180. He now has more sixes in T20 internationals than Pakistan’s Mo Rizwan.
Surya has been at his best all season, and his fearlessness and experience will be crucial in the next T20 World Cup. If he finds his feet in Australia, India has a good chance of winning the tournament.
