So Proud of these Boys: Ryan Reynolds after Wrexham lose FA Cup replay against Sheffield United

Ryan Reynolds’ Co-Owned football club Wrexham AFC was denied a Hollywood ending in the replay of the 4th round of FA Cup tie against Sheffield United.

It was one of the greatest tie produced by two of the most unlikeliest teams of the season. It had drama, passion, intensity, and in the end some beautiful footballing skills that allowed one team to triumph over the other.

Ryan Reynods delighted by Wrexham’s performance

And Ryan Reynolds seems to have enjoyed all of it. The Hollywood star was present during his team’s both matches and was seen cheering with avid fashion.

However, his team could not complete a dream comeback in the replay match. And went down 3-1 to Sheffield United owing to a missed penalty by Paul Mullin.

Reynolds was moved by the amazing performance of his team. Showing his support and love for the players and fans alike, he shared a tweet on social media that read, “So proud of these boys. And the 4,000 plus away supporters who gave it all.”

The Co-Owner of the team McElhenney, meanwhile, posted: “I could not be more proud of those men than I am right now. They gave it absolutely everything.” And he followed that up with: “Now let’s go win this f***ing league.”

Wrexham’s show of passionate football against Sheffield

Wrexham, who is a National League side football team took on Sheffield United in FA Cup 4th round on the 29th of January in which they showed some great football. And managed to draw the game 3-3.

In fact they were winning the game 3-2 at one point. Before John Egan of The Blades put in the winner to end their hopes of heroic clash.

The game ended 3-3 and a replay of the match was called in order.

9 days later, both the teams met once again, this time in the home ground of Sheffield United. But the story was not the same this time around.

The Blades came strong from the very beginning. They scored the first goal of the game. Although Wrexham equalized 9 minutes later, Sheffield always looked the favorite.

The Championship side went into 90+ minute tied at 1-1 before Billy Sharp and Sander Berge won it for them in the dying ambers of the game.

After the glimmering hopes of playing Tottenham in the next round of matches fading away completely, Wrexham will focus on winning the league. They currently are second in the table with 2 games in hand on the team above them.
