Sergio Ramos presented Gerard Pique’s ex-partner Shakira with the ‘Best Song of the Year’ award at the Latin Grammys.
The Colombian singer won three awards at the Latin Grammy Awards in Seville. Ramos, who is Gerard Pique’s ex-teammate, presented her with two of those awards for the Best Pop Song.
Shakira won a Latin Grammy Award for her diss track about her ex-partner Pique called Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.
Shakira and Ramos also posed for the cameras on the sidelines where the Sevilla defender can be seen wrapping his arm around the Colombian singer.
Gerard Pique and Sergio Ramos’ broken friendship
The former Barcelona defender recently announced his retirement from football and broke up with the singer in June 2022, ending their 11-year relationship.
Ramos and Pique are footballing icons for their respective clubs and Spanish national team as well. Despite playing as centre-backs alongside each other for the national team, the duo were fierce rivals on the domestic front.
Ramos played for Real Madrid, whereas Pique played for Barcelona. The rivalry between the two clubs created numerous issues between them. Moreover, at one point, their friendship was practically ‘broken’.

Both Pique and Shakira posted a joint statement that read: “We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our top priority, we ask for respect for our privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
After ending their 11-year relationship, the World Cup winner moved on with Clara Chia Marti. Whereas Shakira shifted to Miami from Barcelona.
After receiving the award, Shakira thanked the fans for supporting her during “difficult moments” as an apparent dig at Pique.
She said: “I also want to share this with my Spanish public. You have been there accompanying me through the good and the bad, in difficult moments.”
Nevertheless, winning these awards should further amplify her popularity among the fans.
