India’s men’s doubles duo, Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, have reached a remarkable milestone in their badminton careers. Their exceptional performance in recent tournaments has propelled them to this new height in the men’s doubles circuit.

Satwik-Chirag Claim World No. 2 Spot

Defeating Chinese pair Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang in the Korea Open semifinals enabled Satwik and Chirag to claim the coveted second spot. Their triumphs in major competitions, including the Korea Open (Super 500), Swiss Open (Super 300), and Indonesia Open (Super 1000) titles this season, have amassed them an impressive 87,211 points.

Satwik and Chirag’s remarkable form has been evident throughout the year. They emerged victorious in their fourth final of the season, making an astonishing comeback from a game down to defeat the world’s number one pair, Fajar Alfian and Muhamad Rian Ardianto, at the Korea Open.

The duo’s unbeaten streak extends to an impressive 10 matches on the BWF World Tour, underscoring their dominance and skill in men’s doubles badminton. Meanwhile, India’s ace women’s singles player, PV Sindhu, who faced an early exit at the Korea Open, maintains her position at the 17th spot in the singles list. Despite the setback, her consistent performances have enabled her to retain a prominent spot in the rankings.

HS Prannoy Leads Indian Men’s Singles Rankings

In the men’s singles rankings, HS Prannoy continues to shine as India’s top-ranked shuttler, holding strong at the 10th spot. Denmark’s Victor Axelsen leads the men’s singles rankings, but Prannoy’s consistent performances have earned him recognition and respect on the global stage.

On the other hand, London Olympics bronze medallist Saina Nehwal experienced a slight drop in the rankings, now occupying the 37th position. Saina’s journey has been marked by ups and downs, and she will be eager to reclaim her form and improve her ranking in future tournaments.

Lakshya Sen, who secured victory at the Canada Open, slipped one position to the world number 13 spot after missing the Korea Open. On the other hand, Kidambi Srikanth, who has been struggling to find his form, remains at the 20th spot. Srikanth will be eager to overcome his challenges and return to his previous winning ways.
