Sanju Samson snubs offer made by Ireland cricket board to represent their country

Sanju Samson has been the hottest topic of debate in Indian cricketing circles. A player of his talent and credibility has been snubbed enough times by BCCI now. And the fans want to see him in action on the international stage.

This is where Ireland Cricket board sniffed a possibility and did something nobody could have thought of. They made a formal offer to the Indian keeper to shift base to Ireland.

Sanju Samson snubs Ireland’s offer

Yes, according to a report published by Inside Sports, Sanju Samson has been approached by the Ireland Cricket Board to play for their team by switching nationalities.

It is to be believed that he was made the lucrative offer of playing every game. However, there are several cons of this offer. By accepting this, Samson will have to cut all his ties from BCCI and even the illustrious IPL.

Hence, keeping that in mind the player is allegedly snubbed the offer for now.

Sanju Samson’s lack of action on international stage

This doesn’t change the fact that Sanju Samson is not desperate to play for his country. the player has been longing for a long stint in the blues for a while now. He has been in and out of the side on numerous occasions.

Sanju Samson last represented India in an ODI series against New Zealand last month. He had an average performance in the series that India lost.

Before that he was snubbed from the Asia Cup squad. And is not a part of the team playing in Bangladesh.

This shows that BCCI doesn’t consider him as a capable player to hold a position in the side. He has been in a part of the set up since 2015 but has not found a place as yet.

Hopefull this approach by Ireland might wake BCCI up. Also it’s not like India doesn’t have enough troubles in the middle order, with Pant and Rahul struggling for form.

Perhaps giving Sanju Samson a try wouldn’t be that bad of an option after all.
