Son of ex-Barcelona and Brazilian legend Ronaldinho, Joao Mendes, has signed a brand new contract with the youth team of Barcelona according to the latest announcement made by the Spanish giants on Thursday.

The official announcement came on the morning of Thursday, which is exactly two weeks after the 17-year-old Brazilian, Joao Mendes, made his Barcelona debut in a friendly match against Manchester United as a part of the mixture team of Juvenil A and B youth squads.
Joao Mendes’ signing was then made into an official announcement only after his deal was signed with the presence of Joan Soler and Jose Ramon Alexanco, the Barcelona director of Formative Football department.
Mendes previously had terminated his contract with the Brazilian club of Serie B, Cruzeiro and had been in training with the youth team of Barcelona since January on a trial basis.
According to the insider reports, Mendes’ contract is being expected to take him to the summer of 2024.

Joao has just made a social media post stating that he was very happy and grateful for this big opportunity presented to him by Barcelona.
Mendes was previously thought to have already signed for the Blaugranas after he had started his trials back in January, following a debut against United where he showed signs that he lacked the required rhythm in European football.
However, all the clouds of confusion have been pushed aside as Mendes has now officially been included into the Juvenil category.
