Rafael Nadal, Zverev to feature in Charity Match ahead of Australian Open

Whenever January comes around, the Tennis fans know that they can expect an action packed Australian Open to be played in Melbourne where best players from around the world would partake.

However, the Christmas for these fans might come early this January as according to India Today, Rafael Nadal is said to feature in a charity match ahead of the scheduled tournament.

The 22-time Grand Slam Champion, will feature in Play Tennis for Peace Charity match on 11th January. The match will be played at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.

The amount generated from this game will be donated towards UNICEF Australia and other Global Giving that are working towards improvements in Ukraine.

India Times further reports that Nadal will not be the only player involved. There will be other big names like Alexander Zverev, Maria Sakkari, Frances Tiafoe, and Coco Gauff as well.

Also more players are likely to join in and will be announced once the ongoing United Cup comes to an end.

The tickets for this charity match are already available. They are prices 25$ for adults and 5$ for children. ITF, ATP, and WTA are the prime supporters of this tournament.

“Tennis is a truly global sport with an international playing community that has a history of stepping up and helping out. Through Tennis Plays for Peace, the tennis community can offer practical assistance through fundraising, as well as show our heartfelt support for the victims of the war,” Craig Tiley, the Australian Open Tournament Director, was quoted as saying.
