Brazilian forward and Paris Saint-Germain icon, Neymar Jr scored the second goal for his club, PSG in the 17th minute of the game that they played against Lille.
Neymar was later seen being carried off in a stretcher off the pitch fairly early into the second half of the match with tears. This occurred after his collision with Benjamin Andre from Lille, which resulted in rolling his right ankle.
It was revealed later on Tuesday that the star forward had acquired a ankle ligament injury during the 4-3 victory of the Parisian club over Lille on Sunday.
Paris Saint-Germain made a customary official statement to declare the severity of the damage that had been caused to Neymar.
The official statement read that the additional tests conducted that day had confirmed that their Brazilian star, Neymar had sprained his angle accompanied by some damage to his ligament.
They statement continued that Neymar would be undergoing further tests at the beginning of the coming week. However, the Ligue 1 giants did not mention about the time period or how long would their forward be on the sidelines.
Paris Saint-Germain are set to clash against their bitter rivals, Marseille on the coming Sunday prior to hosting Nantes on the 4th of March. They would then bring their attention to the their clash with Bayern Munich on March 8th for the second leg of their round of 16 Campions League game.
