The PGMOL have finally confirmed that they are currently in the process of “thoroughly reviewing” the recent offside incidents with Arsenal and Brighton.
Both Premier League clubs were stunned after they both had drawn their matches against Brentford and Crystal Palace this Saturday. Brighton’s accurate goal against Crystal was ruled out inappropriately due to “human error”.

On the other hand, Arsenal conceded a goal late into the match, which became a controversial equalizer shaking their race for the title.
It was later revealed that the video assistant referee Lee Mason had in fact, forgotten to draw the offside lines, which would have ruled out the goal conceded by Arsenal. This happened only after Arsenal boss Arteta had questioned the decision.
Following the fiasco, PGMOL released an official statement, where it confirmed that its Chief Refereeing Officer, Howard Webb had acknowledged his errors and contacted both Arsenal and Brighton to explain the errors in the VAR process in their matches.

The statement said that both the situations had occurred due to human errors and are currently being thoroughly reviewed by the PGMOL.
Following this, Brighton also released an official statement on Sunday which confirmed that PGMOL had contacted them the previous night regarding the serious error which had disallowed Pervis’ goal at Crystal Palace.
The statement also stated that while they were disappointed by the error caused, the club was accepting the apology and would not be making any further comment on the matter.
However, the error makes the situation more grave for the Gunners as they are holding on to ashes for Manchester City to not take advantage of this situation and get ahead in the title chase.
