Pep Guardiola Threatens to Leave Manchester City if Players Don’t “Wake Up”

Premier League giants Manchester City’s boss Pep Guardiola has ruthlessly demanded from his squad to wake up and realize that they are in the middle of a title race and that he wouldn’t be here for long if they didn’t start waking up and challenging for the Premier League title.

The sky blues currently stand five points behind this year’s table toppers Arsenal. Guardiola’s side have had a very lacklustre season and despite that they are only five points behind the leaders Arsenal with just half of the season gone.

Pep Guardiola is a former Barcelona midfielder and has stated that he had won four La Liga titles in a row back in his footballing days as a player. He continued that in his fifth season, he was not the same anymore and the same happened in his sixth season.

Guardiola explained that he was not starving enough and that he though how good he was and the Madrid beat him in the fifth and sixth season.

He went on to add that he understood the challenge and was here to do it, and that the chairman knows that to. Guardiola went further to say that he wants to be here [City] otherwise he wouldn’t sign.

But Pep Guardiola also made it clear that if he loses the team or if he lost something, he couldn’t be there anything. He stated that here people don’t wait.

Guardiola wants City to make comeback over Arsenal

Manchester City’s chances of making a comeback in the title race have sky-rocketed in the second half of the season after the World Cup. Owing to the World Cup, Arsenal had lost their important striker Gabriel Jesus due to injuries, who had earlier joined the Gunners from City themselves.

Guardiola demanded that they were second in the league table and were not some 25 points behind Arsenal and that there were 57 points more left to fight for. He made it clear that playing in the current way, there was no chance.

Guardiola also gave hope that they had time to recover and that City were now expected to play always like they played against Tottenham Hotspur in the second half where they achieved a 4-2 league victory.

“For many things, the consistency to play in a good level but that is the past. Now our fans want the second half (against Tottenham) more often and that is what we have to find,” said Guardiola.
