PAK VS BAN, Super 4: At the Asia Cup 2023 in Lahore on Wednesday, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets thanks to an all-around performance. Mohammad Rizwan returned unbeaten on 63(79) as Pakistan successfully chased down the 194-run mark in 39.3 overs, with Imam-ul-Haq leading the way with the bat.
On the other side, Rizwan and Imam put together a crucial 74-run third-wicket stand while Imam scored 78(84). Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, struggled mightily with the bat as Taskin Ahmed dismissed him for 17(22).
Prior to it, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah put on a masterful performance as Pakistan was defeated by Bangladesh for 193 in 38.4 overs. With four wickets taken in six over, Rauf emerged as the Pakistani team’s standout bowler. In the 5.4 overs, Naseem picked up three wickets, not far behind.
Only Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim from Bangladesh were able to withstand Pakistan’s ferocious pace. They both hit their individual half-centuries as they accumulated 100 runs for the fifth wicket. Mushfiqur was caught behind for 64(87), while Shakib was dismissed for 53(57).

With the win, Pakistan broke the record for most victories (13) against an opponent in the history of Asia Cup ODI format. The previous record was held by Sri Lanka, who defeated Bangladesh 12 times in ODI Asia Cup.
Bangladesh will now face Sri Lanka on September 9 in Colombo where they will look to bounce back from this defeat and get some revenge against Sri Lanka. While Pakistan will meet arch-rival India on September 10. The cricket fraternity will be hopeful that no rain disrupts this high-octane clash this time.
