Neymar Out of Champions League RO16 against Bayern with Injury

Paris Saint Germain’s star forward Neymar is ruled out of the round of 16 second leg battle of the UEFA Champions League against Bayern Munich for an away confrontation in the coming week according to the PSG boss Christophe Galtier.

Previously in the Parisian club’s game against Lille last month, which they had won 4-3 after making a comeback, Neymar was seen being carried away on a stretcher because of an ankle injury.

According to the scan results, it was revealed that his ligaments were damaged during the confrontation and that the Brazilian’s recovery would cost the Parisian club at least two or three weeks.

Christophe Galtier was asked earlier during a news conference on Friday if the 31-year-old Brazilian would be returning for the second leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League, to which Galtier responded simple by stating that he thought “no”, Neymar was out against Bayern.

Despite Neymar’s desperate attempts at getting fit for the clash against Bayern Munich and submitting himself to an intensive treatment and rehabilitation, it seems he would still be ruled out of the clash.

The French would be looking to climb up for a victory against Bayern after already having lost the first leg of the round of 16 match of Champions League in a 1-0 home defeat earlier.

The Brazilian international has already missed the club’s big victory of 3-0 against Marseille earlier on Sunday and will also be missing out on the Ligue 1 game on Saturday against Nantes.
