London Derby: Aaron Ramsdale “Kicked” by Tottenham Fan, “Shoved” by Richarlison

Aaron Ramsdale, the Arsenal goalkeeper had a controversial game after getting shoved by Brazilian Tottenham player Richarlison, and if it wasn’t enough, he also got kicked by a fan on his back after the North London derby clash.

Ramsdale “kicked” by Spurs fan

Arsenal emerged victorious 2-0 over Tottenham and after the final whistle was blown, both team fell into mayhem, Ramsdale being at the centre of it.

Keeper Ramsdale was too enthusiastic to celebrate their victory after the final whistle that he ended up punching the air in front of Richarlison, which led to a series of chain reactions.

Ramsdale “shoved” by Richarlison

Richarlison ended up infuriated with the so-called celebration and stormed his way through to let his intention known, as a result they were both seen facing off eachother head-to-head before a steward came on pitch to stop their browl.

Ramsdele, consequently, ended up being shood away from the Brazilian and went near the goal to pick up his water bottle.

However, when he bent down to pick up his water bottle, a Tottenham fan climbed the hoarding separating them and kicked him on his back.

Ramsdale responded by instantly turning around with the intention of confronting the fan, but couldn’t do so because his teammates had dragged him away.

Ramsdale later said that Spurs fans were giving him some crack in the second half and that he gave them some back.

Tottenham stands with Ramsdale

He continued that the few people he gave it back took it in a sportsmanship way but one of them jumped over and gave him a little punch on his back. He said that it was a shame because it was just a game of football at the end of the day.

Tottenham Hotspur has shown their solidarity with the goalkeeper and released a statement saying that they vow to ban the fan who had kicked Aaron Ramsdale.

They said in the statement that they were appalled by the behavior of a supporter of their club who tried to kick the Gunners’ goalkeeper toward the end of the match. They continued that violence in any form has no place in the game of football.

FA to take action with police

The Professional Footballer’s Association had also released a statement which said that Violence towards players is completely unacceptable and that incidents of this type were now happening way too often.

“Players have a right to be safe in their place of work. When a player is attacked, we expect the laws and regulations that are in place to protect them to be properly enforced.”

“As the players’ union we treat this as a priority issue. We will be continuing to work with the authorities to demand that players and staff are better protected in their place of work.”

The FA also expressed similar emotions shortly after and said that they strongly condemn the incident and that they would be working with the police together to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
