Australia’s men’s team was able to win 4 out of 5 ODI World Cups. Starting from the 1999 WC, they went on to win the 2003 World Cup and then the 2007 one in West Indies as well.
However, their streak was broken in 2011 by India as they lifted their first title in 23 years. Australia made a comeback in the very next edition at home and became the first team to win it 4 times in history.
Although Australia’s Women’s Team has already won this tournament 7 times, given the close proximity in which the tournament is contested, they would love to extend their legacy in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
