La Liga bars Barcelona from Registering Marcos Alonso’s Contract Extension

Barcelona continue to face setbacks with registering their renewals as after Gavi, La Liga has refused to allow them to register Marcos Alonso’s renewal.

The Catalonian club has been carrying several renewals in both Men and Women’s team. But they are not allowed to register some of them due to the salary cap rules.

Barcelona not allowed to register Alonso

Earlier in the week it was reported that Gavi was not allowed to be registered as a first team player. Now something similar is conspiring with the new Catalan renewal of Spaniard Marcos Alonso.

The left wing back arrived at Barcelona from Chelsea for a free transfer last summer. And since then has been a huge star for the Barca side. therefore, the Blaugranas decided to extend his contract which originally would have expired coming summer.

But according to ‘Que T’hi Jugues’, La Liga has refused from allowing them to register it.

Why can’t Barcelona register Gavi and Marcos Alonso?

According to a report by Cadena Ser, La Liga has alleged that Barcelona exceeded their salary cap this summer. It is noticeable that Barcelona indeed made some huge signings in the form of Alonso, Raphinha, Kessi, Christiansen, Lewandowski, and Jules Kounde.

Hence, it is obvious that they must have exceeded their salary cap. As it is not something new in Barcelona’s history. They have been under the scrutiny regarding the same for years now.

Given their bad financial conditions and highly paid ballers, they will be required to see off the condition in the next transfer window.

They have started to make some amendments to it already. Last week they let go of Memphis Depay for a transfer fee of 3 million to Atletico Madrid. The Dutch international was allegedly earning 9 million a year in wages.

So, they have started making room for registering players. Also, the mid-season departure of Gerrard Pique has helped them a lot. And with Sergio Busquets and others like him linked with other clubs, Barcelona are likely to make a change for the good in coming times.
