Kylian Mbappe Scores 9 World Cup Goals to surpass Maradona, Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo

Kylian Mbappe created history again earlier in his match for France against Poland in the round of 16. He gave a spectacular performance and gave the French a 3-1 victory against Lewandowski’s country. He has become the first player in France’s history to have scored 4+ goals at multiple World Cups.

The 23-year-old has already become the star player for the French national team and has overshadowed his fellow teammate Giroud’s broken record in the exact match. Mbappe scored a brace to have a five-goal tally in the 2022 edition of the tournament.

The five goals scored during the group stages and knockouts have put Mbappe first in the running for Golden Boot and will secure the individual trophy for him if he continues to play until the semi-finals at the least.

Combined with the previous goals scored back in 2018 Russia, Mbappe has netted a total of 9 World Cup goals in his career, playing in only two editions of the tournament.

With 9 career goals in the World Cup for the French, he now stands ahead of the all-time records made by football legends Diego Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Thierry Henry, Rivaldo, Kempes, and many more.

What makes this feat by Mbappe even more extraordinary is the fact that he has scored the same number of goals as the legendary Lionel Messi. If this feat wasn’t as surprising, it is even more astonishing that he has played three lesser World Cups than the Argentine.

The French prodigy is only 23 years old and has already either broken or equaled the records set by the legendary predecessors. He also stood out in the spotlight in the match played against Poland earlier, netting two goals and bagging one assist to Giroud, who broke Thierry Henry’s record and became the all-time top-scorer for the French.
