Kylian Mbappe Breaks Record, Becomes PSG’s All Time Leading Goalscorer

French icon and Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Kylian Mbappe surpassed Edison Cavani and has become the all time leading goalscorer for the Parisian club after bagging 201 goals after scoring a late extra time goal against Nantes in Ligue 1.

Mbappe caught the ball inside the Nantes box and used his fine strength to hold his ground against the Nantes defender, got away from the grip on his shoulder, turned, and netted the ball right past the Goalkeeper Alban Lafort at the 90+2 minutes of the game.

This goal has etched the name of Kylian Mbappe in the history of Paris Saint-Germain with golden ink, making him outright the highest goal machine for PSG with 201 goals within 247 games played across all competition at only 24 years of age.

PSG had a wondrous start into the match after Lionel Messi scored the opening goal only 12 minutes into the match with a stunning left-footed volley.

Only five minutes later in the 17th minutes, Nantes defender Jaouen Hadjam under pressure from Nordi Mukiele scored a blunder own goal inside his own Nantes net and provided PSG with 2-0 lead.

However, Ludovic Blas launched a stunning shot beating Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 31st minute of the match to decrease the goal difference to only one goal for Nantes.

Seven minutes later, in the 38th minute of the game, Nantes made a stunning comeback after Ignatius Ganago deflected a corner past the keeper into the PSG goal to score an equalizer for Nantes.

Parisians are not one to stay satisfied with a draw and it was evident in the second half when none other than Kylian Mbappe provided a stunning assist only 15 minutes into the second half to Danilo, who grabbed the opportunity and headed it home at the 60th minute.

A fine ending to the clash was achieved when Kylian Mbappe scored a record breaking winning goal himself from inside the box with a left-footed technique in the 90+2 minutes of the match.

PSG now turn their attention to Bayern Munich next for their second leg clash of the Champions league round of 16, where they will try to overturn their fate of 1-0 defeat in the first leg.
