Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi Exchange Shirts After Semi-Finals; Fans Are Loving it
There was a viral moment after the electrifying match in the Al Bayt Stadium between France and Morocco, where the defending champions, France, emerged victorious with a 2-0 thrashing to Morocco.
French star striker Kylian Mbappe was seen exchanging jerseys with his Paris Saint-Germain co-player and best friend, Achraf Hakimi. They wore each other’s match-worn and sweat-drenched shirts while France celebrated their entry into the finals.
Goals netted in by Theo Hernandez within the opening five minutes of the match and Randal Kolo Muani in the 79th minute crushed Morocco’s hopes of becoming the first African nation to play in a World Cup and stormed France into their second successive World Cup final.
The most anticipated clash inside the battle between France and Morocco was at the ride side of the Moroccan defense, where usually best pals Hakimi and Mbappe in PSG camp would face off against each other.
Mbappe, while on a trip to Qatar earlier in January, insisted that even though being best buddies in the French capital for their club, he will be “destroying” his friend when the right time came for them to face off.

Hakimi and Mbappe were getting on each other’s nerves in the match as they were both matched relatively and evenly. Still, it was Mbappe who emerged victorious and has now proceeded into his career second World Cup finals.
However, the match results were set aside; both friends embraced each other once after the match ended and wiped each other’s tears. Then, they were captured swapping shirts in a wholesome moment that instantly went viral on social media.
Fans worldwide fell in love with the wholesome moment shared between them and were all in for the display of bromance.
Great gesture by Mbappe and Hakimi
Mbappe was seen putting on his buddy’s jersey before he joined his French teammates to celebrate their historic entry into the final. At the same time, Hakimi was also seen in Mbappe’s jersey as he walked down and disappeared inside the tunnel, giving up temporarily on his dream of winning.
Multiple viral tweets were describing their feelings of pure adoration for the two.
The Hakimi–Mbappe pair was also greeted by French President Emmanuel Macron inside the tunnel, who was present to witness the match.
Mbappe is currently having a blast in the World Cup while being the top scorer of the tournament with 5 goals, tied recently only by Messi. However, Mbappe has brownie points to take him ahead, for all of his goals are without the advantage of penalties.
