Jurgen Klopp says Mohamed Salah is “Suffering” This Season with Liverpool

Liverpool’s forward and the winner of last season’s Golden Boot, Mohamed Salah, is reportedly “suffering” as he was the part of an unsettled front three in this season, according to manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Egyptian forward has scored a total of seven goals within 19 Premier League matches played this current season, he had earlier scored 23 goals in the 2021-22 season.

Mohammed Salah is “Suffering” confirms Klopp

Salah is reportedly “suffering” because he has played in three different front lines in the last three matches he has played.

Klopp stated earlier that of course he was suffering and that it was specific that offensive play required a lot of work and a lot of information.

Liverpool’s front three consisting Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane are famous for their epic aggressive style of play that had brought Champions League and Premier League title home.

Klopp continued that the front three were a well-drilled machine and that everything was clear about what they were doing. He said that there is always a feeling about where your teammate was and where to pass the ball without even having to look in their direction.

However, since the departure of Mane to Bayern Munich the previous summer, Salah ahs been playing as a part of various formations alongside Gakpo, Firmino, Diaz, Nunez, Chamberlain, etc. and has obviously struggled to make a proper connection with any one of them.

The preferred starting trio of manager Klopp is that of Salah, Nunez, and Diaz have only been on pitch this season for 343 minutes together in the current season.

Klopp also described how Nunez and Gakpo, the two new signings of the club were getting settled with the squad and that they were an important asset, especially Gakpo, who will be like a connector, playing both center and wing, will have significant roles to play in coming time.

Klopp urges for more time to turn things around

However, Klopp described that his problems right now were bigger than just the front three. He said that if someone scored hundred goals in the past and now were unable to repeat the feat, it would generally be the first thing that one would think about.

But according to Klopp, that was not their problem at the moment. He said that the problem was he needed time, and that nobody wanted to invest time.

“I wish everything would be easier again and that already we had qualified for finals at the end of the season..this situation is not perfect but the basis of the last two games is something I like,” added Klopp.
