Chelsea’s latest high profile transfer Joao Felix had a terrible debut in a match which pushed Chelsea down to its third consecutive defeat across all tournaments and their eight league defeat in the current season. They are currently in the 10th position on the table.
Joao Felix gets red card in Premier League debut
Joao Felix was full of enthusiasm just one day after successfully completing his loan transfer from Atletico to Chelsea, but it was more a nightmare debut for him as he was straight up shown a red card only 58 minutes into the game.
Chelsea faced a 2-1 defeat and Felix’s reckless tackle on defender Kenny Tete proved to be the doom for the blues as Fulham exploited the man advantage to its core to acquire the 2-1 victory after Brazilian forward Carlos Vinicius netted in a perfect winning header in the 73rd minute of the match.
Chelsea face third consecutive defeat
This victory for Marco Silva’s side led Fulham to its first ever league victory against Chelsea in 17 long years. This result has also risen Fulham above giants like Liverpool to the 6th position in the Premier League table with 31 points within 19 games played, Chelsea ranks 10th.
Chelsea had earlier been completely crushed by Manchester City with 4-0 defeat in the FA Cup, but they looked hopeful with Felix starting in this match.
However, despite Felix having two attempts at the goal it was nullified after the errors made by Chelsea led to goals from Fulham, and ultimately another defeat.
Joao Felix, the much-anticipated signing worth 9 million pounds ($11 million) who was supposed to be the gamechanger for Chelsea, will be missing next three league games due to suspension. These matches are crucial and will be against Liverpool, Crystal Palace, and Fulham.
