However that could not happen as Ishan Kishan was ruled out of the game after suffering unfortunate blow to his head by Chris Jordan.

Incident took place during the first inning of the game when Mumbai Indians were being battered all around the part by Subhman Gill.

At that time, while changing ends, Ishan Kishan somehow found a way to clatter into Chris Jordan. And the elbow of the english all rounder hit the Indian keeper right in the eye. Immediately the keeper was taken off the field with physio taking care of him.

Later it was revealed that Ishan Kishan has suffered concussion and will not take any more part in the game. He was replaced by Indian batter Vishnu Vinod.

Injury Prone Mumbai Indians

Ishan Kishan was not the only player to have sustained injury in the Mumbai Camp. Apparently, skipper Rohit Sharma was also nursing a niggle sustained during the first inning. And Aussie all-rounder Cameroon Green also suffered an injury during batting.

Rohti Sharma was injured while trying to catch a ball hit by Hardik Pandya on a free hit. The catch was dropped which was uninportant since the ball was a freehit. But the injury sustained might have played a part in Sharma’s batting failure.

Green on the other hand was injured while batting in the second inning. He sustained an injury on his left hand and was asked by the umpires to leave the field. However, he returned after a few minutes to rejoin the attack of Mumbai Indians.

He even went on to thread 52-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav. But that was not enough for Mumbai to salvage a win and confirm a berth in the final of IPL 2023.
