Explosive batter Tim David of the Mumbai Indians (MI) was sent packing during the IPL 2023 Eliminator game against Lucknow Super Giants after a waist-high full toss was not ruled a “no-ball.” David was visibly furious with the on-field umpire’s decision. Notably, the match took place on May 24 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai between the two teams to determine who would advance to Qualifier 2.
After the frequent dismissals in the first innings, Mumbai was reduced to 105/4 in less than 12 overs. However, the team placed its faith in the lower middle order to get them out of the odd circumstance and assist in achieving a respectable first innings total.

However, Tim David was visibly unhappy with the umpires during the third ball of the 17th over as they failed to call a “no-ball” on a waist-high delivery from Yash Thakur. Notably, Thakur delivered an outside off full toss that appeared to be over the waist and could have resulted in a no-ball decision.
David, however, slogged it towards long-on, where Deepak Hooda was easily pouched. David, who thought the delivery ought to have been declared a no-ball, appeared defeated and returned to the dugout after scoring 13 runs off of 13 balls.

Notably, the five-time champions scored 182 runs in the allotted 20 overs in the match. Cameron Green (41 off 23 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav (33 off 20 balls) provided Mumbai with inestimable contributions, which greatly aided MI in looking into the LSG bowlers’ eyes.
Naveen-ul-Haq, meanwhile, finished his four overs with a four-wicket haul for 38 runs at a 9.50 economy rate. In contrast, Yash Thakur also had a strong performance, taking three wickets for 34 runs in four overs.
Mumbai will try to advance in the chase and earn a spot in Qualifier 2. Chennai Super Kings, headed by MS Dhoni, secured the first berth in the championship match, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 28. As a result, the IPL 2023 saw its first finals.
