“I Always Thought Messi Was Better Than Ronaldo”: Aboubakar as He Leaves Al-Nassr

Al-Nassr are set on terminating Cameroon forward, Vincent Aboubakar’s contract after they have signed the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo. However, Aboubakar might be leaving on a bitter and spicy note because of that.

Aboubakar on Messi-Ronaldo debate

According to the sources, Aboubakar is having his last laugh before leaving Saudi Arabia as he takes part in the Messi–Ronaldo GOAT debate and has said that he always thought that Messi was better than Ronaldo, but apparently after he had practiced with him, he knew he was right.

“I always thought that Messi was better than Ronaldo, but after I had practice with him, I knew I was right.”

The Cameroon international has made a total of 34 appearances for the Saudi outfit since he had joined the club earlier in 2021, and has 12 goals to his name.

The 30-year-old is having his contract forcefully terminated because of the rules in Saudi League which state that a single club can register only upto 8 international players. Hence, to include the football sensation Ronaldo in their squad, the club would be firing one of their existing foreigners.

Ronaldo to make Al-Nassr debut on 22nd January

Al-Nassr were well aware of this rule while signing the Portuguese legend, as stated by the report. Aboubakar has also agreed on mutually terminating his deal and will get compensation from the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo, however, will still have to warm the bench until 22nd January before he can make his much-anticipated debut for Al-Nassr.

This is because of his 2-match long ban that was imposed upon him for smashing an Everton fan’s phone while he was leaving the pitch back in November when he was still playing for Manchester United.

Ronaldo has already sat out one of his two matches of suspension during Al-Nassr’s faceoff against Al-Ta’ee. The next match that he’ll be missing is against Al-Shabab on 14th January. After that he will be available for his grand entrance on pitch against Al Ettifaq on 22nd January.

On the other side of the globe, Ronaldo’s former club, Manchester United have been rumoured to be plotting to bring Aboubakar into the Old Trafford for a short-term contract.
