“Get Me Chelsea or Bayern”: Cristiano Ronaldo to Agent Jorge Mendes Before Split

Cristiano Ronaldo has given an ultimatum to Jorge Mendes, his former agent according to the reports to secure a transfer to either Bayern Munich or Chelsea the previous summer. However, Mendes had let Ronaldo down.

Ronaldo and Mendes has split because Mendes was unable to secure Ronaldo the move he desired so desperately to Chelsea or Bayern Munich before he finalized his move to Al-Nassr.

Reason behind Ronaldo and Agent Mendes suface online

According to sources, Ronaldo had told Mendes that he either got him Bayern or Chelsea, or they were through. To which Mendes had replied by saying that Ronaldo was crazy and hence he couldn’t manage to get him either of the two clubs.

Ronaldo had been seeking a move away from Manchester United after the club’s failure to get the Champion’s League. Cristiano and Mendes also had a brawl apparently according to the insiders when he had left Real Madrid.

Mendes had told Ronaldo to stay with Real Madrid, and that he will be protected there, and if he left, it would be worse, when Ronaldo wanted to be a free agent to be able to match the salary of rival Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo and Jorge Mendes Transfer Saga

During the transfer window, Mendes had tried linking the Portuguese superstar with both Bayern and Chelsea due to his commercial appeal. Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly had been keen to take Ronaldo onboard, but Thomas Tuchel the manager was not pleased.

On the other hand, Oliver Kahn, the CEO of Bayern Munich had revealed internal discussions in the club for signing Ronaldo, but later claimed that he was not fit for their philosophy. Consequently, both clubs backed away from signing a deal a with him due to the “bigger than club” mentality.

According to the sources, Mendes had made a last attempt to grab a deal for Ronaldo to Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund after his termination from the red devils.

It was Ronaldo’s personal manager and close friend Regufe, who had ultimately sealed the mouth-watering deal of £175m-a-year from Al-Nassr for Ronaldo.
